Milan expected with Zen 3

AMD has not yet been able to elicit any details about the processors. Milan is likely to use the Zen 3 core architecture, which was already introduced on the desktop with the Ryzen 5000 series. Otherwise, the new Epyc processors seem to be roughly based on their Zen 2 predecessor Rome. According to current reports, major changes will probably only be made with the next but one Epyc processor generation Genoa.

Although the official presentation is still pending, AMD has been supplying the Milan processors to selected partners since last year. The chips are currently being built into the mother-of-pearl supercomputer, for example, which is currently being built at the American National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center in Berkeley, California.
