A multinational technology company Apple has announced that it will soon be producing one million face shields a week for the medical professionals fighting against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Chief Executive Officer of Apple Tim Cook said that the company had already sourced 20 million surgical masks from around the globe to help address the shortage globally.

“But the company had also designed its own transparent protective face shield and begun mass production at its factories in the United States (US) and China,” he added.
“We plan to ship more than one million by the end of this week,” the chief executive said.
Cook further said that initially the distribution of the face shields would be focused on the most affected country so far the United States (US) but the company expected to “quickly expand distribution” to the other affected countries of the world.
