Apple Discontinued 21.5-inch iMac Due To Supply Chain Crisis

Apple seems to be discontinuing the 21.5-inch iMac. Bottlenecks in the supply chain should be responsible for this. Just recently, Apple announced that the 21.5-inch iMac would remain part of the lineup. Now the customers have to switch to another model.

While Apple’s silicon processors can be found in more and more devices, Macs with an Intel chip are slowly disappearing from the market. As part of the Apple event last week, the group continued to sell the old 21.5-inch version. Although the variant was difficult to find, the computer could be ordered through the store without any problems. However, this option has not been available for a few days.

The iMac is said to have disappeared from the official store on Friday and is no longer available. If you still want to purchase the device, you have to fall back on the remaining stocks from third-party providers. The 21.5-inch model, equipped with a seventh-generation Core i5 processor, costs $1099 as standard. Presumably, the remaining dealers will soon be calling for a significantly higher price.

The 21.5-inch iMac has been criticized for its outdated design, outdated specifications, and relatively high price. Nevertheless, the model was often bought for training purposes.

You Can Still Get 27-inch iMac

If you are interested in the 21.5-inch iMac and don’t want to buy a device with Apple’s silicon chip yet, 9to5mac has the option of switching to the 27-inch model. Alternatively, iMacs with M1 processors are available. The smallest silicon model is 24 inches and costs at least $1,299. In contrast to the old devices, the new models are available in several color variants and more modern designs.
