Apple introduces the New MagSafe Duo Firmware

MagSafe Duo charger is a device that is compatible with both i.e., Apple Watch and the MagSafe-compatible iPhone models. Just recently, the tech giant Apple declared that it is going to introduce upgraded firmware for the MagSafe Duo charger. As per this information, the latest firmware carries version 10M3063. However, in the Settings app, it is presented with a 256.1067.0 version number.

In 2020, the MagSafe Duo was initially introduced. It was released in conjugation with the iPhone 12 series. Since then it has received no updates. It is now going to be the first time after its initial release that is going to receive new firmware. However, do note that there are no notes in the changelog. For this reason, it can’t be depicted what new will be added.

Basically, the MagSafe Duo was designed to work with Apple Watch as well as iPhone. However, it doesn’t support the Apple Watch Ultra. To address this issue, the company shared a support document with the users that discusses how the Ultra Watch could be charged with the device. It sometimes requires removing the band so the Watch and Duo can work together. Do note that Apple Watch Ultra is not itself listed as a supported device on the MagSafe‌ Duo page on Apple’s website.

Besides this, there is no crystal clear methodology for upgrading the firmware of MagSafe Duo. It requires an active connection with an Apple device in order to start the installation of a firmware update.
