Apple iPad Mini 6 Design, Specs, And Prices

With the iPad Mini 6, Apple has introduced a larger display as well as a new design for its smallest tablet. With the A15 Bionic, it is also significantly more powerful than its predecessor.

Mini tab but pro design

The sixth generation of the iPad Mini has received a new design. This now looks more modern and is reminiscent of the iPad Pro and iPad Air. Due to the significantly narrower frame, the display is now slightly larger than its predecessor. The screen diagonal is now 8.3 inches, the resolution is 2266 x 1488 pixels. Thanks to the brightness of 500 nits, the tablet can also be used outdoors without any problems. It is a bit of a shame that the refresh rate is 60 Hertz – other devices now offer more. The Apple Pencil 2 is supported for handwritten notes or drawing.

A total number of four loudspeakers is sensibly placed so that they can be found on the left and right when watching films in landscape format. Unfortunately, there is no longer a classic headphone jack on the iPad Mini. The home button on the front has also disappeared. However, Apple has placed the fingerprint sensor on the power button on the side of the tablet. Good news: Apple is now using USB-C and not Lightning.

Follow-up camera

On the front, there is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera that supports the “Center Stage” follow-up mode and thus ensures that the user remains the focus, for example during the video calling. The main camera on the back also has a resolution of 12 megapixels and has a flash. Overall, the camera takes good photos, but it shows visible weaknesses in low light and night shots.

Apple installs the in-house A15 Bionic in the iPad Mini 6, which is also in the iPhone 13. Thanks to six CPU cores and an improved graphics unit with five cores, it offers decent performance even in complex games.

The iPad mini 6 is available in four different colors and in-memory versions with 64 and 256 GB. With a price of 549 euros roughly $630 for the cheapest model, it has, unfortunately, become a little more expensive compared to its predecessor.
