Apple is actively working on its foldable iPhone

The story of Apple’s foldable iPhone is still ongoing, as new details point to both advancements and challenges with the enigmatic gadget. Apple’s much-awaited debut in the foldable market is still a mystery, despite rivals like Samsung and Huawei emerging as major participants.

Updates on the development of Apple’s Foldable Phone

A tipster claims that the company is actively working on its foldable phone. The tipster Fixed Focus Digital (Weibo) claims that the company is even exploring possible options by dismantling competitor offerings in the foldable segment. As a result of “unsatisfactory results in screen testing,” the report reveals delays that throw off expectations. This suggests Apple’s unwavering standards could cause the smartphone to be delayed even more.

The competitors, on the other hand, are gearing up to release new foldable versions. Currently, Apple dominates the traditional smartphone market. From this perspective, a foldable is nothing more than a strategic product. So, the company has the opportunity to move forward with patience.

Some previous reports suggest that the company is working on two prototypes. One of them is a clamshell phone similar to the Galaxy Z Flip. The other prototype refers to an inward-folding iPad with an 8-inch screen. Some experts assume that the company might opt for a big form factor because of the thick design. After all, a thick design has fewer durability concerns.

The article also emphasizes Apple’s possible benefit in spite of the delay. Foldables might benefit greatly from years of expertise with high-resolution screens, which would enable them to outperform the current competition in terms of quality. Now, the question is: when will Apple launch its foldable iPhone or iPad? Well, according to rumors, we can expect these devices at some point in 2025. However, a fresh report suggests that it could be even further delayed. Some sources claim that the company might debut the devices in 2026.
