Apple is likely to Spend 1 Billion Euros on the expansion of the Munich Silicon Design Center

The tech company Apple has declared that it is going to expand the Silicon Design Center in central Munich. It will be expanded with the aid of a 1 billion euro investment in German engineering over the course of the next six years. The company states that the investment will be used for the design and construction of a state-of-the-art research facility. It will act as a hub where teams from Apple could unite and devise new technologies. It will help to increment the efforts associated with collaboration and innovation.  

The senior vice president of Hardware Technologies, Johny Srouji, states that the R&D teams in Munich are a crucial element of the company. Since they will be associated with efforts to introduce products with greater performance and efficiency. With the expansion of the European Silicon Design Center, the company will move a step ahead towards more unified collaboration among 2,000 engineers in Bavaria. They are reportedly working on some revolutionizing technologies like custom silicon designs, wireless technologies, and power management chips.

Furthermore, besides the Seidlstrasse facility, teams will inhabit various other R&D spaces at Denisstrasse and Marsstrasse. It is a part of the Silicon Design Center expansion. All these three sites are located in close vicinity of Apple’s recently opened R&D facility at Karlstrasse. The statement expands on Apple’s prior 1 billion euro investment promise from 2021 when it chose Munich as the location of its European Silicon Design Center’s headquarters. Over the previous five years, the company claims to have invested over 18 billion euros in more than 800 German businesses, promoting employment possibilities, neighborhood development, and job growth.
