Apple Is Working On Services Bundle iOS 13.5.5 Code Suggests

Rumors suggest that Apple is working on a service package that will offer multiple Apple services like Apple TV+ and Apple Music for a fixed monthly fee, and according to the code found in iOS 13.5.5 apparently confirms Apple’s plans.

The files in iOS 13.5.5 refer to a “bundle” and a “bundle subscription”, and these files were not in earlier versions of iOS. The files are said to be linked to the “Apple service subscription management system like Apple News +”.

There are rumors that Apple has been working on some kind of service bundle since 2018, and most rumors have indicated that the company is considering “Apple Music”, “Apple TV+” and “Apple News+” in the bundle offer.

Right now, ‌Apple Music‌ is priced at $ 9.99 a month, ‌Apple TV 4+ is priced at $ 4.99 a month and ‌Apple News‌+ is priced at $ 9.99 a month, so a set would likely offer customers a discount while encouraging them to subscribe to the three offers from Apple.

Apple News‌+ and ‌Apple TV‌+ are not as popular as ‌Apple Music‌, so a set could spur growth. Since late 2019, Apple has had discussions with record labels about creating a multimedia content bundle that would include the “Apple Music” service. At least one record company has voiced concerns, so it’s not clear when Apple may be able to sign deals that will allow it to offer a bundle. A November report from Bloomberg suggested that a set of services could be launched as early as 2020. At the end of 2019, Apple experimented with consolidation, offering free access to “Apple TV+” to students who subscribe to the “Apple Music” service.
