Apple Mac Event Likely To Be Held On October 30 or October 31

Based on insights from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is anticipated to host a Mac-centric launch event either on October 30 or 31. This speculation stems from a combination of insider information and noticeable shipping delays on certain Mac models, notably the 24-inch iMac, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and both the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro variants, with shipping times extending into mid-November. Gurman interprets these delays as a harbinger of upcoming new releases.

Further bolstering the speculation is the scheduling of Apple’s earnings call on November 2. Historical trends show a precedent, as back in 2018, an October 30 event preceded a November earnings announcement, during which new iPads and Macs were unveiled.

Among the probable releases, a refreshed 24-inch iMac seems to be at the forefront, especially given that the current model has not seen an update in over 900 days and remains the sole M1-based offering in the Mac lineup. Additionally, Gurman doesn’t rule out the possibility of updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, despite a recent refresh in January 2023. While an additional update within the same year is deemed unusual, it’s not entirely implausible.

The new iMac is speculated to bypass the M2 chip in favor of the more advanced, yet rumored, M3 chip, aiming for substantial performance and efficiency upgrades. On the other hand, the new MacBook Pro models might sport enhanced processors, although the specifics remain undisclosed. There’s also chatter about minor improvements to the display technology, potentially featuring more efficient mini-LED displays.

As the speculated event date approaches, the tech community is abuzz with anticipation, keenly awaiting official announcements from Apple regarding the new Mac releases and possibly, a glimpse into the tech giant’s roadmap for its computing segment in the near future.
