Apple To Release New Macbook Models And iMac In October

After Apple introduced the new generation of iPhones last month, the manufacturer could soon announce iMacs and MacBooks. The product presentation is scheduled to take place in October and thus before the announcement of the group’s current quarterly results.

This emerges from a report by Bloomberg author Mark Gurman. Apple is currently said to be preparing another launch event that will be broadcast on October 30th or 31st. The quarterly figures will be published on November 2nd, just a short time later.

The event is likely to focus on a hardware update for the iMac with a 24-inch display. The currently available version was presented in April 2021 and only has a now outdated M1 chip. The revised model could skip the M2 chip and be equipped directly with the M3 processor.

Limited availability indicates the launch

In addition to the iMac, three MacBook Pro variants could be shown at the event. While new processors will be installed in the notebooks, the rest of the hardware configuration will hardly change. A new design is not expected to be introduced until 2026 when Apple switches to OLED screens. Mark Gurman notes that stocks of MacBook Pro models with screen sizes of 13, 14, and 16 inches are running low. The Apple Stores are not expected to have many devices in stock again until mid-November.

This suggests that Apple will soon bring revised versions of the affected models onto the market. While the 13-inch version should get an upgrade to the M3 chip, the 14- and 15-inch models will get an M3 Pro and M3 Max, respectively. However, fans will have to wait at least another year for a high-end iMac with a 32-inch display and the MacBook Air with an M3 processor.
