Apple might debut a new Magic Mouse with a USB-C port next week

According to some recent pieces of information, Apple is going to introduce the Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad for the Mac. The company will debut these products at its upcoming ‘Scary Fast’ event that is scheduled for October 30, Monday. This information comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Reportedly, the new accessories will come with support for USB-C ports in contrast to Lightning ports for charging.

Presumably, the company will introduce these accessories along with the new 24-inch iMac featuring the M3 chip. There are no details on whether the accessories will feature any new design modifications or just the USB-C port. After their most recent significant update in October 2015, they still mainly have the same appearance, while some small changes have been made over time, such as the addition of braided cables and new color options that are exclusive to the 24-inch iMac.

In 2021, the company introduced a Magic Keyboard with a Touch ID button. Although the Magic Mouse can go up to a month without needing to be charged, its bottom-mounted Lightning port—which keeps the mouse from being used while charging—has long been a source of humor among Apple enthusiasts. Whether the USB-C port on the upgraded model will be positioned in a more practical spot is unknown.

All four models of the iPhone 15 series come with support for USB-C ports. Moreover, the USB-C port can also be found on the recent Siri Remote for the Apple TV. Reportedly, the company has discontinued the MagSafe Duo Charger and MagSafe Battery Pack with lightning ports.
