Apple might replace Samsung with some other brand for supplying Micro LED displays of the Apple Watch Ultra

The tech giants Apple and Samsung have reportedly good terms concerning the supply of some essentials for products. Reportedly, Samsung deals with the supply of OLED displays as well as memory chips or various products of Apple. With the new year, come new plans. Apple is all set to start working on the next-gen of its watch series. It will be the Watch Ultra. As per reports, it is anticipated that Apple might introduce the next-gen Ultra watches with Micro LED displays. If this is the case, it might be quite worrisome for Samsung. Since it will lose a lot of business from Apple. Since it won’t be providing the display panels for the next-gen Watch series.

The source of this information is market analyst Jeff Pu. He is known for disclosing information about future Apple products. According to his information, the next series of watches planned for 2024 will utilize the Micro LED display. This suggests that Samsung will no longer be associated with Apple given its Watch series. Why this is so? Can’t Samsung deal with Micro LED panels? Well, at the moment it can’t. Since it doesn’t manufacture panels for small devices rather it manufactures for large ones.

If we assume this news to be true, then Apple would be preparing for the Apple Watch Ultra set for release in 204. Given this new proposal, the company would be in search of a possible manufacturer for supplying Micro LED displays. Since Samsung doesn’t deal in this business segment, Apple will likely move to some other brand. BOE is already associated with Apple. It supplies OLED displays for iPhones. It might happen that Apple handovers the contract for Micro LEDs to BOE. Well, these are only assumptions and no official news has been shared yet.

Besides all this, we know that the South Korean tech company Samsung is going through a rough patch. Reportedly, it ended the year with low revenue and operating profit. If such is the case with the Apple Watch series, then it will be a big hit for the company. Since it is already suffering losses due to low consumption demands.
