Apple Releases First Beta Of iOS 16.4
Shortly after the release of iOS 16.3.1, Apple is now launching the first beta version of iOS 16.4. The new version is now available for registered developers and can be tested. Updates for iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV are also available.
Apple launches the first beta for iOS 16.4. No information is available yet on what changes the update will bring. The official release notes only deal with bug fixes and changes for developers.
Innovations will certainly also be available – but there is no information about them yet. As usual, Apple itself has not revealed any details. The finished iOS 16.4 is expected in the coming weeks, probably from April.
How to join the beta program
First of all, Apple released the iOS 16.4 beta update for registered developers only. This also applies to the beta of iPadOS, WatchOS, and tvOS 16.4. The first beta version in the public test program could follow soon. If you haven’t signed up for the public beta program yet, you can still do so and jump right in when the first new public beta becomes available.
Participation in the public test program at Apple is free and requires a one-time registration at beta.apple.com/sp/de/betaprogram from correspondingly supported devices. An Apple ID is required for this.
Once you’ve signed up, new beta versions will then be automatically delivered to your device as over-the-air updates, just like other updates. When participating in the beta program, one should bear in mind that unforeseen problems could still arise. It is therefore better, if possible, not to use the productive iPhone, but a second device for the tests. In the event of a problem, Apple cannot provide any support for the beta versions.
