Apple shares the earning report for the third quarter

Recently, the Cupertino-based tech company shared its earnings report for the third quarter of the current fiscal year. Previously, some analysts predicted that the company might generate less revenue. As per the report shared by AAPL, the company earned a revenue of $81.79 billion. In contrast, it is a decline of 1% year-over-year and earnings-per-share of $1.26. During Q3 2023, the company earned $19.88 billion as a profit. Notably, the company earned up 5% year-over-year. In addition to this, the company claims that it now holds a family of one billion paid subscribers. Likewise, the number of the installed base of active devices was also recorded at a new all-time high.

According to the company’s trend, Apple releases its third quarter 2023 financial results while the public’s focus is on the September debut of the iPhone 15. The business anticipates an overall decline in iPhone revenue for Q3 as more customers wait until September to purchase the most recent iPhone model. Furthermore, the company debuted several Mac products during Q3 2023, including the 15-inch MacBook Air, the brand-new M2 Mac Studio, and the first-ever Apple Silicon Mac Pro.

Analysts projected $81.69 billion in revenue and $1.19 in profits per share for the quarter. Earnings were slightly lower from $83.0 billion compared to the same quarter last year, but net profit increased from $19.4 billion. Apple no longer provides unit sales information for any of its devices, instead, the company provides a revenue breakdown by product category.

A deeper look at the Q3 2023 earnings

As per the information, the complete breakdown for the fiscal Q3 2023 is as follows: for the iPhone, the analyst estimated that revenue would stand at $39.9 billion. Actual figures show it as $39.67 billion which is a decline from $40.67 billion. Coming towards the Macs, $6.84 billion was generated in contrast to the $6.8 billion predicted by the analyst. The iPad category generated $5.79 billion in revenue less form the estimated $6.4 billion. Furthermore, Apple recorded $8.28 billion in revenue in the wearable and accessories segment. The company generated $21.21 billion in the services category which is an increase from the previously recorded $19.60 billion.
