Apple’s Upcoming Software Updates: What to Expect

Apple’s next big software updates are still a few months away, but we already have some early details about iOS 19 and visionOS 3 to get excited about. Here’s what we know so far.
iOS 19: Expanded Intelligence Features Coming Soon
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iOS 19 is likely to expand Apple Intelligence features across more of Apple’s built-in apps. While exact details on these expansions aren’t available yet, this could be a significant step in enhancing the functionality of apps we use every day. Additionally, a redesigned Camera app and a more conversational Siri are expected, though the latter has faced some delays.
visionOS 3: A Feature-Packed Update on the Horizon
Gurman also described visionOS 3 as a “feature-packed” update, but specific features have yet to be revealed. In the meantime, visionOS 2.4, currently in beta, is shaping up to be a major update itself. It brings Apple Intelligence to the Vision Pro, debuts a brand-new Spatial Gallery app for immersive content, and includes other improvements. This update is set to roll out to the public in April.
Vision Pro Hardware Updates: Not Anytime Soon
When it comes to hardware, the Vision Pro isn’t expected to receive an update this year. There have been rumors about a version with an M5 chip launching as early as late 2025, but Gurman suggests 2026 is more realistic. Interestingly, he referred to the Vision Pro as a “commercial flop,” underscoring the uncertainty surrounding the product’s future. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to Apple’s official announcements.
