AVM starts update: improvement for FritzApp Fon for Android

After the feature update for the FritzApp Fon for iOS devices, AVM has now been followed up with an update for Android smartphones. However, there is nothing to read about new functions so far, according to the manufacturer it is a maintenance update. That let the router specialist know on Twitter. If you are using an Android smartphone and a FritzBox, you should check out the new update for the FritzApp Fon. According to AVM, this is a maintenance update that should start numerous improvements. Unfortunately, there are no details on this. The new version for Android has build number 2.5.3.

The company has not yet published areas where optimizations are now possible, so there are only very general release notes with reference to “detailed improvements”. As soon as more details are known, we will pass them on later. We’ve added the release notes at the end of the post. AVM recommends the update for all FritzApp Fon users, as security-related changes are also included with each new version. The update is now available through the Play Store and should therefore gradually reach all users automatically. To use the app, you must currently have at least FritzOS 7.29 installed. The Fon app can do that

As a FritzBox user, you can use the app to make calls very flexibly via the fixed network. This means that the fixed numbers can be used with the smartphone in the WLAN at home.
