Bard can be used as the sole name of the Android assistant with Bard

Last year, with the announcement of the Google Pixel 8 series, the tech giant Google debuted the ‘Assistant with Bard’ for 2024. According to some recent pieces of information, the company might change the name of ‘Assistant with Bard’ to ‘Bard’ only before releasing it on Android. The company has already optimized bard.google.com for mobile.

In addition to this, the details about the initial setup screens of Bard AI were recently shared. According to fresh information shared by folks at 9To5Google, the introduction of Bard has been changed from Hi! I’m Assistant with Bard to Hi! I’m Bard. The new changes were found in Google App v15.2. One thing to notice here is that it is not the only modification.

The article claims that many references to “Assistant with Bard” have been altered or replaced with simply “Bard.” This implies that Google won’t refer to their next-generation AI as “Assistant with Bard” going forward, which is, to be honest, a smart decision, even ahead of its launch.

In addition to this, the company is referring to Bard as a digital assistant. It is avoiding the term an updated version of Google Assistant. Furthermore, the adjective “classic” is no longer used to describe the previous iteration of the Google Assistant. Overall, it appears like “Assistant with Bard” will simply be known as “Bard” at the Android launch, and Google may rebrand “Google Assistant” in the future.
