Transportation is going to revolutionize with time. What if we tell you a vehicle that is capable of traveling in the air as well as on land is on its way to hit the market? Yes, you read it right. XPeng Motors is all set to introduce its XPeng Huitian Flying Car to the market. Reportedly, the two units of the company, Guangdong XPeng and Guangdong Huitian, partnered on January 2, 2024. The announcement about the new collaboration was shared by the company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Guangdong Huitian will focus on the research and development of flying cars. This unit is headed by He Xiaopeng, who is one of the main shareholders of XPeng Motors. The design and technical expertise will be extended by Guangdong XPeng. This subsidiary of XPeng Motors will play a significant role in assembling the flying cars.
The XPeng Huitian’s modular flying car accompanies a unique land-air integrated design. It has a removable and recombining land and flying body. On land, the vehicle can transport 4–5 passengers. It is powered by a hybrid power system that relies on a three-axle, six-wheel automotive design for superior mobility.
The flying body, on the other hand, is fully electric. It is a manned aircraft with vertical take-off capability. It can be used for low-altitude flight. Reportedly, it will combine both manual and automatic driving modes. It can be charged inside the cabin to protect it from the weather.
Reportedly, the flying car will enter mass production by Q4 2025. This aggressive schedule illustrates XPeng’s dedication to launching this ground-breaking technology as soon as possible. Of course, difficulties are in store. Public safety issues, infrastructure development, and regulatory obstacles must all be addressed. However, XPeng Huitian is laying the groundwork for a time when flying cars will be commonplace, revolutionizing the way we travel, work, and live. This is thanks to its creative design and committed collaborators.
