Captain America: Brave New World

Marvel has released a first teaser trailer for Captain America: Brave New World. In the film, Anthony Mackie will embark on his first major solo adventure as the new Captain America – and will have to uncover an international conspiracy in the process.

Outlook on the first Marvel hit for 2025

Although Deadpool & Wolverine will soon be released in cinemas, Marvel is already getting ready for the next potential comic blockbuster. And even though the preview for Captain America: Brave New World that has now been released is strictly speaking just a “teaser”, it already reveals a lot about the film’s plot. For example, we learn that Thaddeus E. Ross, who has just been elected US President, is once again pursuing the goal of introducing Captain America to an official military office and is now hoping for the support of Sam Wilson.

He had already taken Steve Rogers’ place as Captain America in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but is clearly still struggling a little with this role. However, bigger problems are also looming when the new President becomes the target of an attempted assassination in which super soldier Isaiah Bradley is the main suspect. Of course, this seems to be only part of a major conspiracy that is likely to involve a lot more than initially assumed.

Harrison Ford in the MCU

Interesting detail: With Brave New World, Harrison Ford is making his debut in the Marvel universe. The Star Wars and Indiana Jones star plays Thaddeus Ross, taking over the position of William Hurt, who died in 2022. He was last seen in this role in Black Widow (2021). As the video suggests, Ford/Ross will probably experience his transformation into the Red Hulk in the film.

The rest of the cast also includes Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Xosha Roquemore, Tim Blake Nelson, Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly. Julius Onah is directing. In the USA, Captain America: Brave New World will be in cinemas from February 14, 2025. For EU, only February has been given as the time frame so far. What is certain, however, is that Deadpool & Wolverine will start on July 24 – the only MCU film this year.
