Cyber Attack Hits British Parliament

The Telegraph reported that British Parliament has been hit by a “continuous and resolute” cyber-attack.

Weird activities were discovered on computer networks and steps were taken to protect systems. Unusual activity also included stopping access to Palace of Westminster. It is confirmed by parliamentary authorities that hackers were continuously trying to access user accounts to recognize loopholes in passwords.

Also few days back information about thousands of government officials was found online on Russian hacking sites as per investigation from The Times. Now the spokesperson from British Parliament has confirmed that they are taking steps to secure computer network.

The situation indicates two things, one that in the digital world we are living today nothing online is safe and secure. If British Parliament accounts could be hacked, then there are major gaps in privacy policies. Two, Russia’s hackers’ involvement in the cyber-attack in British Parliament is indicated.
