Diablo 4: Blizzard Announces Closed-End Beta for Biggest Fans
Just yesterday there was a detailed leak from an internal beta of Diablo 4, but this showed an unfinished game in many respects. However, fans will soon have the opportunity to play a much more advanced version, namely via a closed beta.
Around 40 minutes of material from the so-called Friends & Family beta has surfaced these days. While this version is playable and quite polished for such an internal version, it still doesn’t have much to do with the finished product. It is therefore not surprising that developers and publishers do not want such material to become public. Of course, this gives the wrong impression.
Closed-End Game Beta is coming in November
But Blizzard has now announced a beta, in which you will certainly get a much better impression: Because the Diablo 4 developer has announced that a closed beta for endgame content will start in the next few weeks and months. Blizzard did not give an exact date, at least not for the start of this test phase. Leaked barbarian gameplay from the Friends & Family beta.
Because another date was announced, namely November 18, 2022. Because those who register for the closed-end game beta and are selected above all will receive an invitation or access to this preliminary phase by this day. One can therefore assume that the actual beta test will start a few days later. As the name suggests, Blizzard wants to test the endgame here.
This is also done because it avoids betraying the story of Diablo 4. Because the beta starts at the point when you have played through the campaign and are dedicated to the “other” content. These include events and locations such as Infernal Tide, Nightmare Dungeons, Whisper of the Dead, Fields of Hate, and Paragon Tablets.
If you want to know exactly what’s behind it, you can find the descriptions in a post by Blizzard. Platforms will be PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4, with full cross-play enabled. However, only the most active Diablo players, namely those who have recently spent a lot of time playing the endgame experiences of Diablo 2: Resurrected, Diablo 3, and Diablo Immortal, have a chance of being invited.
