Earbuds with USB-C are reportedly in mass production before the launch of the iPhone 15

A few months back we heard about the EU regulations of a USB-C port for all mobile devices. For quite some time now we have come across several rumors regarding the iPhone 15 series. It is claimed that the iPhone 15 series will come with a unique USB-C port rather than Lightning connectors. Besides the iPhone 15 series, many Apple accessories will switch to USB-C as well. The source of this information is the leaker ShrimpApplePro who claimed in a tweet that EarPods with a USB-C port are already being produced in bulk quantities. Previously, it was claimed that Foxconn was the source of the earbuds.

On iPhone 15 models, the new EarPods would connect without an adapter. They will connect directly to the USB-C port. Both versions of Apple’s wired earphones with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Lightning connector are presently available for $19.

Back in 2016, the company removed the headphone jack from iPhones and introduced wireless AirPods. Since then, earbuds have lost some of their appeal. However, they are still a more cost-effective option for consumers. On the other hand, EarPods offer a straightforward plug-and-play wired listening experience. They are provided with a built-in remote and no pairing or charging requirements.

The new EarPods are expected to go on sale around the time when Apple announces its iPhone 15 lineup in September. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo other accessories like the MagSafe Battery Pack, the Magic Keyboard/Trackpad/Mouse trio, and AirPods charging cases, will also allegedly switch to USB-C in the future.
