Elon Musk predicts when man will land on Mars

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has been talking about colonizing Mars for many years, and it’s also one of the main drivers of all of his space activities. Musk has now commented on when humanity will set foot on the surface of Mars, which is seven years from now. Musk says the first human will set foot on the surface of Mars in 2029. Specifically, the Tesla and SpaceX boss was asked by a user or space-loving account called Space_Hub when he currently expects a manned landing on Mars.

Specifically, Space_Hub shared an image of the first man to land on the moon at the top and artwork by the first Martian astronauts below. In the first case, of course, the date was 1969, the photo below only showed an open “20_ _?” read. Musk responded to this steep template with the correct date or year, writing 2029 – 60 years later after Neil Armstrong’s first step on another celestial body beyond Earth.

Date difficult to predict

The SpaceX boss puts previous statements into perspective: Only last year did he say that humanity – and by this, he mainly means his own space company – will land on the red planet ‘far before 2030’. It should be noted, however, that he mainly meant unmanned missions. However, in the fall of 2020, he said that this would be the case in two years.

However, you and Musk should be careful with such predictions, as the Mars landing will require several technological solutions, many of which are not yet ready or available. SpaceX itself is currently working intensively on Starship, or the central rocket/spaceship combination for the journey to Mars, which must also pass the first flight of the entire system (ie both phases).
