The tech giant Google has unveiled the Pixel 8 series. The series comprises the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. In this short piece, we will briefly discuss the features of the Google Pixel 8. It is a comparatively smaller model.
Display of Pixel 8
The smartphone features a 6.2-inch full HD+ (2400 x 1080) OLED display. It offers a refresh rate between 60 and 120Hz. Basically, it is an LTPS display. The company refers to this panel as ‘Acuta Display.’ The Gorilla Glass Victus protects it. It features 2,000 nits of peak brightness with support for HDR. The aspect ratio of the display is 20:9, and the panel is flat.
The smartphone is powered by the Google Tensor G3 SoC, which comes with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. Do note that the storage is non-expandable. Alongside this, the smartphone includes the Titan M2 security processor.
It accompanies a larger battery
The Google Pixel 8 accompanies a 4,575mAh battery with support for 27W wired charging. The company sells a 30W charger; however, it is not included in the box. According to Google, the device can be charged at 50% in just half an hour. However, the complete 100% charge will require a longer time. Along with the 27W wired charging, the device also supports wireless charging.
Cameras of Pixel 8
On the rear, two cameras can be found. One of them is a 50MP primary camera, whereas the other is a 12MP ultrawide camera. The Google Pixel 8 features spectral and flicker sensors as well as LDAF. A 10.5MP selfie camera can be found on the front side. The device features an in-display fingerprint scanner and supports facial scanning as well, thanks to the front-facing camera.
Pixel 8 will receive 7 years of software support
Some other features of the smartphone include support for stereo speakers, a Type-C port (3.2 variety), 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and dual SIM support (nano SIM + eSIM). The Pixel 8 comes with Android 14 out of the box. The device is eligible for 7 years of security, feature drop, and OS updates. Pixel 8 is IP68-certified for water and dust resistance. It comes in three different colors: Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose.
