According to news reports, Facebook is developing ‘Threads’ a new messaging app. The app will allow users to share more info, pictures, messages with their close friends. It will basically operate as a companion to Instagram.

The app is designed to automatically share close details like location, speed, and battery life,” along with pictures and messages with your intimate friends.

According to the report, the app is in testing phase currently and it is made to be used with the “close friends” list on Instagram. Facebook has not commented on when the app will be launched.

Earlier in 2019, Instagram ended its support for Direct, a camera-first app that was quite identical to Snapchat. The app was released in 2017, tested in Chile, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, and Uruguay but before it was released worldwide, the app was canceled.
