Following the release of the iOS 17 beta, Apple is preparing iOS 16.5.1 for iPhone

Based on some recent pieces of information, the Cupertino-based tech firm is working on the iOS 16.5.1 update for the iPhone. There is no information about the availability of the update. However, there is a possibility that it will arrive by the end of this week or by next week.

Well, it is a minor update. Basically, minor updates are focused on bug fixes, security patches, stability improvements, and other such features. they do not include new features. Reportedly, the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter does not operate properly with iPhone based on iOS 16.5. However, the issue was fixed last month in the iOS 16.6 beta. So, there is a possibility that a fix for this issue will be a part of this iOS 16.5.1 update.

Last week, during WWDC, Apple introduced iOS 17 first beta. The updates are expected to roll out to the public later this year. They will be introduced to the iPhone XS and newer. It accompanies several new features. one of the most notable features is the StandBy mode. This feature works while an iPhone is charging in a landscape position. Some other features include interactive Home Screen widgets, improved autocorrect, a Journal app, and more. In addition to this, the company has rolled out the developer beta free of cost to developers for the first time ever. Developers are no longer required to pay $99/year as part of the Apple Developer program membership.

Just a few days back, the company reported that 81% of all active iPhones were based on iOS 16. However, there are chances of a decline in numbers given the release of the iOS 17 beta. Possibly, the company will roll out iOS 17 in September. It might unveil the new iOS 17 with the upcoming iPhone 15 series.
