For foldable phones, Samsung is developing two new camera modes

Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, might be working on several new camera features for the newly introduced foldable smartphones. According to reports, the new camera features are aimed at Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 Flex Hinge/Flex Mode. The trademark applications for FlexSnap and FlexShot, two new Flex-based names, have been filed by the Korean tech giant.

The above-mentioned information was sourced from GalaxyClub. Interestingly, the new terms were discovered at the UK Intellectual Property Office.  Do note that the new terms have not been listed in the One UI 5.1.1 update. They are anticipated to arrive on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.

There are two possible meanings for this. First off, despite the fact that One UI 5.1.1 contains these features specifically for the latest foldable phones, Samsung made no mention of them in any of its pre-release materials. The second reason could be that the new features might not arrive on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. Although they could debut this year.

Samsung is working on two new FlexCam features

These new functionalities could appear with One UI 6.0 for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 later this year if Samsung patents the FlexSnap and FlexShot names with the purpose of using these titles in the future. Take this speculation with a grain of salt, but at this time, anyone can speculate on what FlexSnap and FlexShot will do.

The term “FlexSnap” gives a hint that it might function like Snapchat. However, this is just a guess. If you search “FlexShot” online, the closest thing you’ll discover is a “super thick rubber sealant” that bears the “Flex Shot” name. It goes without saying that this has nothing to do with Flex Hinges or cellphones. Whatever the two features do, they appear to be exclusive to the company’s foldable smartphones.
