Samsung Galaxy S24 users might soon experience faster fingerprint unlocking, thanks to upcoming updates in the One UI 7 beta. A recent leak by the reliable source, Ice Universe, suggests that the third beta release will include significant improvements to the biometric scanner. This update reportedly enhances unlocking speed, with sharper audio feedback for lock and unlock actions.
The Galaxy S24 already employs advanced ultrasonic fingerprint scanning technology, which is quicker and more reliable than optical scanners. These sensors work even with wet fingers, a feature Samsung has consistently highlighted. However, earlier versions of One UI occasionally slowed down the unlocking experience, causing frustrations for users. The new beta aims to address these issues, delivering a smoother and snappier feel.
A leaked demo video showcases the improved performance, though it’s noted that tests with Always-On Display enabled could appear faster than in standard conditions. Users remain optimistic that the update will bring noticeable enhancements regardless of display settings.
The One UI 7 beta program is ongoing, with the third beta expected to roll out in early January 2025. The full release, however, is anticipated to arrive after the Galaxy S25 series launches, suggesting non-beta users may need to wait a bit longer to see these upgrades.
This improvement is part of a broader effort by Samsung to refine One UI 7, which also promises new Galaxy AI features and additional enhancements. By addressing user concerns with faster fingerprint performance, Samsung continues to polish its flagship experience for Galaxy S24 owners while actively preparing for the release of its next generation of devices.
