Galaxy S25 Edge: Bending test provides astonishing result

The new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, with only 5.8 millimeters, is the manufacturer’s thinnest smartphone. Can such a slim device withstand external effects, or does it bend directly? A video now provides a clear answer.

Galaxy S25 Edge: flat and still robust?

With the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung has launched a real lightweight. With a thickness of only 5.8 millimeters and a weight of just 163 grams, the smartphone sets new standards in terms of compactness. But how resistant can such a thin device be? This question employed many technology enthusiasts in the run-up to the publication. Some readers may still remember “Bentgate” on the iPhone 6 from 2014. Samsung relies on premium materials for the S25 Edge.

The frame consists of titanium, which should give the smartphone more stability than conventional aluminum constructions. The front protects Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, while the back is equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus 2. In addition, the smartphone has an IP68 certification for dust and water protection. So how well is the cell phone protected against external influences?

Surprisingly resistant in the test

The well -known YouTuber Jerryrigeverything has subjected the smartphone to several hard tart tests – with quite amazing results. In his video he demonstrates the impressive resistance of the ultra -thin S25 Edge. The display test with a lighter showed no permanent damage after 30 seconds of direct flame. It is particularly noteworthy that even the fingerprint sensor still works perfectly after the display has been heavily scratched.

At the bending test, there was only minimal flexibility from the back. When the device was bent over from the front, the back released slightly at one point, but then returned to its starting position. It is extremely unlikely that the device bends while it is transported normally in your pocket. Here the titanium frame seems to do full work.

Compromise on the battery

The extreme slimness still has its price. Because Samsung had to compromise on the battery. The S25 Edge has a comparatively small 3900 mAh battery and only supports 25 watt fast shop. This could become a problem for users with high demands. The first user tests showed that the battery life is about 20 percent lower than the regular Galaxy S25 with its 4500 mAh battery.
