Although it will be sometime before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, numerous rumors about the upcoming foldable have already surfaced. According to a new report, the smartphone should not be equipped with a dedicated slot for the S-Pen.
The previous model, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, does not have a slot for the S-Pen either. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, is to come onto the market with a storage location for the digital pen, so many fans would have expected that Samsung will again integrate an S-Pen slot into its next foldable. According to GSMArena, this does not seem to be the case. The current prototypes of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 should not have an S-Pen slot. Therefore, the final version of the smartphone should appear without such a slot.
It is of course conceivable that Samsung will revise the design of the device again and add the S-Pen slot at the end. The final design should be completed by March 2022. However, it is very unlikely that the manufacturer will fundamentally change the structure and create space for the storage slot.
The missing S-Pen slot shouldn’t change the support for the input pen, however. It is considered likely that the S-Pen can still be used in combination with the Galaxy Z Fold range in the future. While the S-Pen was originally only supported by the Note series, the pen can now also be used together with the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the new foldables. In addition, some tablets offer support for the S-Pen.
Galaxy Z Fold 4 Expected in August 2022
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 was released just under three months ago. Interested users would have to be patient until the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The foldable smartphone is expected to be launched in August of next year.
