Over the course of time, the tech giant Google has added several new features and elements to its messaging platform. As per some recent pieces of information, the tech giant Google has added some new features to Google Chat. These offerings are similar to what could be found on Slack and Microsoft Teams. Additionally, Google has introduced a new Duet AI collaboration tool.
The recent modifications to Google Chat were announced by the company via its Workspace blog. With the help of Duet AI, users could ask questions about their Drive files and emails. They will get responses in the form of document summaries and conversations. Besides this, Duet AI can generate automated responses to conversations in order to save time.
In addition to this, the app is all set to receive new design elements, including a new home view and a dedicated section for starred chats. Despite the fact that the layout is initially organized in reverse chronological order, Google plans to integrate context-aware ordering techniques. The business is also adding a “huddles” feature that makes starting video or voice discussions easier. Furthermore, the company is increasing the Spaces member maximum to 500,000, a huge increase from the previous cap of 50,000.
Google intends to introduce messaging interoperability across several big platforms like Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Google Chat. Such an approach is specifically targeted at enterprise users. For this reason, Google is partnering with Mio. It will help streamline communication. Furthermore, it will solve the problem of message loss while swapping between different messaging tools. The feature is currently in beta testing. It might debut at some point in 2024.
“We are aware that collaboration and communication take place through a variety of methods and channels. To help customers increase their productivity by improving communication across many channels, we’re teaming up with Mio, a top provider of collaborative interoperability solutions”, according to Google’s blog post.
