Google Fi gains a new name, additional benefits, and more support

Yesterday, Google introduced a fresh new treatment and look for Google Fi. It has rebranded the service with a new logo and a new name. well, this is the third new name of the service. Initially, the service was introduced as Project Fi. It was basically an experimental project. Later on, it moved to Google Fi ad now it is changing to Google Fi Wireless. Besides this, the service will get a new logo as well.

The new name brings in several benefits for consumers. One such is associated with smartwatch support. Previously, it was only available with the Unlimited Plus plan but now it will be available with the Simply Unlimited plan as well. Just pay $50 per month and gain unlimited data on your smartphone and smartwatch. In addition to this, the support for smartwatches has been expanded across the Pixel Watch network. Google Fi Wireless will now support the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro.

Other perks of Google Fi Wireless

As a celebration of the rebranding, the company is running a promotion campaign for Google Fi Wireless. It is offering a free phone for the addition of a new line. The free devices could be a Google Pixel 6a, Samsung Galaxy A14, or the Motorola Moto G Power. Of course, these are not high-end phones but they are free. The device will be free after 24 monthly bill credits.

Furthermore, the Google Fi app will also receive updates. Now the app appears more family-centric. Google has added several parental control features like using a limited amount of data, answering calls from specific users, and more. Moreover, the company has introduced a new eSIM free trial. Users can try Google Fi Wireless for free for a week, besides their current phone number. Keep in mind that if you don’t cancel it after the first seven days, the plan will convert to the Simply Unlimited plan ($50/month). However, this is a fantastic chance to test the service out.
