Google is developing a feature for displaying battery health on Android

A battery, like the one in your smartphone, eventually loses some of its capacity, as the majority of you may already be aware. This implies that your phone will provide you with a reduced battery backup as it gets older. You may eventually need to get a new battery in order to keep using your smartphone normally. Apple displays the battery life of an iPhone in the device settings to inform users when it is time to do that. Sadly, Google does not provide that feature for Android users. That will soon change, though.

A new report from Android Authority claims that the Battery Health tab has been added to the most recent iteration of the Settings Services program for Android. This page has not been made available by Google yet. Nevertheless, the magazine managed to activate it and discovered that its purpose is to indicate the condition of a device’s battery and inform users of whether the battery is original or a replacement.

The website does not currently display any statistics, most likely due to its incomplete functionality. As of right now, there is no clear indication of when Google plans to launch the function or make it available to the general public. But according to Mishaal Rahman, it can occur with Android 15. Therefore, it will be a minimum of a year before we are able to assess Android’s battery health.
