Google is planning to unveil Android 15 in May 2024

In the upcoming months, Google intends to reveal Android 15, while we wait for the One UI 6.1 release. It seems like One UI 7.0 will be built on top of Android 15.

Android 15 might make its debut in May at Google I/O 2024

According to Google, the following Google I/O will take place on May 14, 2024. Google releases a new version of Android at the Google I/O conference each year. We anticipate the corporation revealing Android 15 and its features during this year’s event. Additionally, the business might reveal a ton of new features for Wear OS, ChromeOS, Android TV, and other platforms. The business may introduce the less expensive Pixel 8A smartphone at the event.

Improved Bluetooth LE Audio compatibility, a Private Space feature like Samsung’s Secure Folder, and an Easy Mode akin to Samsung’s Easy Mode could all be included in Android 15. Additionally, Google may reveal updates to its services, which include YouTube, YouTube Music, YouTube TV, Gmail, Calendar, Chrome, Drive, Home, Photos, and Workspace.

When will Samsung deliver the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update?

Each year at Google I/O, Google introduces a new version of Android, which is subsequently made available as Developer Previews in the months that follow. Android Public Beta versions are released after several Developer Preview releases. Then, probably in late Q3 or early Q4, the corporation delivers the stable version of Android. Then, in Q3 of each year, Samsung releases the One UI beta version, and in Q4 of the same year, the stable version.

After that period, Samsung may release One UI 7.0 as a public beta in Q3 2024 and the stable version in Q4 2024. High-end phones from prior years may be the next to receive the One UI 7.0 update, with the Galaxy S24 perhaps being one of the first. We will have to wait until the One UI 6.1 upgrade, which is expected to arrive in a few weeks.
