While the Google Pixel 6a still hasn’t been launched in the EU, official images have come out to give us a better idea of what the smartphone will look like and its differences from the classic Pixel 6.
It’s now been over a month since Google officially lifted the veil on its new Pixel 6a, but it’s not expected to launch until July 21. However, Leaker Evan Blass has already shared several official images of the device showing us all the features of the design.
As we already knew, the Pixel 6a will inherit the iconic design of last year’s Pixel 6, including the horizontal bar-shaped photo module on the back of the smartphone. However, the Pixel 6a will use different photo sensors, as we will find a 12.2 MP main sensor and a 12 MP ultra-wide angle lens.
When the Pixel 6a launched last May at Google I/O 2022, Google had already lifted the veil on all the features of the smartphone. For example, we know that it is powered by the same Tensor chip as the Pixel 6, making it one of the most powerful smartphones in its segment. However, Google had to make concessions in other areas to compensate for the integration of this high-end processor.
The Pixel 6a is equipped with:a 6.1-inch OLED FHD display, but the refresh rate is only 60 Hz which is less than most smartphones of 2022. The screen is also only protected by Gorilla Glass 3, and as can be seen in the official images, the bottom and top edges are clearly visible On the battery side we find a 4410 mAh battery That should be more than enough to last more than a day comfortably, given the small screen and 60Hz frequency.
The main advantage of the Pixel 6a would have to be its software tracking, as Google promises 5 years of updates. Anyway, we can’t wait to get our hands on this smartphone, which will be launched in Europe for 459 euros.
