The tech giant Google unveiled the Google Pixel 8 series, Android 14 as well as the Pixel Watch 2 yesterday. Interestingly, the new smartwatch comes with a number of improvements, and the most significant one is the longer battery life. According to the company, the Pixel Watch 2 can last up to 24 hours on a single charge.
Well, this is not surprising at all; however, it is better as compared to the previous offering. Another impressive feature of the Pixel Watch 2 is the activation of the always-on-display mode that makes it operational for one whole day. Considering that whenever you raise your wrist to look at the display, it is continually lit up.
Besides the longer battery life, the smartwatch comes with several other improvements, including upgraded sensors. Notably, the trackers located on the underside of the watch have been improved. Now they can precisely track the user’s heart rate. The heart rate sensor is now based on a multi-path heart rate sensor. It can conveniently switch between single and multi-path modes depending on the intensity of the workout.
In addition to these aspects, the smartwatch features improved performance thanks to the all-new quad-core CPU. It is basically the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100 with a Cortex M33 co-processor. All these factors contribute to a buttery smooth performance. The watch comes with Wear OS 4.
According to reports, these improved factors will contribute to the better performance of the newly added features, such as automatic workout tracking. Well, this is quite a nice addition since it was missing in the original version. According to reports, the Pixel Watch 2 is available in two different variants, i.e., Wi-Fi and LTE versions. The Wi-Fi variant is priced at $349, whereas the LTE variant is available for $399.
