Google Is To Release New Update For Android 7.1.2 Beta For Nexus And Pixel

Google has announced on Monday that they have release the first ever Android Nougat 7.1.2 which is intended to be used for the devices like; Nexus Player, Nexus 5X, Pixel and Pixel XL. Nexus 6P should wait for an update which will also be released sooner next month.

Android developers blog post indicates that Google said “Android 7.1.2 is a maintenance update which will fix the bugs and improve performance”

The following bugs were found before releasing the update

General Issues
  • Quick settings could disappear on Pixel C devices
  • Searching apps could crash Pixcel launcher
  • UI freezing occasionally
  • Wi-Fi can also create instability
Issues In Setup Wizard
  • Screen goes black during boot animation to Setup
  • Wi-Fi is by default turned off even during setup user has selected the data option
  • Restoration of SMS from device to device is not possible in some cases

Devices with Android beta version should expect the update soon which will most probably wipe out all the issues listed above. Google released android 7.1.1 in December which supported GIF and fixed other performance related issues.

According to ArsTechnica Google mentioned that Nexus 6 and 9 will not be receving any updates of Android 7.1.2 but they will continue to receive other.
