Several users of Android devices have been reporting battery drain as well as overheating issues. Among Android users, particularly the issue has been reported by Pixel users. As of now, recent pieces of information suggest that Google is rolling out a patch that is meant to fix the above-mentioned issues. The update will be introduced server side. It does not require any user intervention.

The issue came to light by Pixel users on Reddit where they reported it on the Pixel subreddit. Most of users reported the issues of overheating and battery drain on recent as well as the previous model of Pixel smartphones. the main reason behind this issue is said to be the Google app. It is using some high battery statistics in the background. the attempts meant to roll back or reset were not successful because of this issue.

Besides this, the tech company has recognized Google app as the main cause. It is due to some backend changes to the Google app. The recent patch will fix the reported problems. The official words of the company indicate as if all Android devices were impacted by this issue besides the Pixel smartphones.

However, no other users have reported this issue. So nothing can be said for sure about the widespread nature of this issue. And since the company has rolled out the update the issue is set to resolve soon.
