Here is Samsung’s 4-year Update Plan in a Glimpse

During the previous month, Samsung made an announcement to offer four years of software support to multiple Galaxy devices. The company has given some extra care to its software since the launch of OneUI software.

Diving a bit deeper, let’s see the 3 major Android updates and a 4-year of security update plan from Samsung.

About Samsung’s Plan

Samsung is offering 2 to 3 major updates. According to Samsung, the company has plans for monthly security fixes to its high-end smartphone and enterprise devices. For the mid-range and older flagships, the company will roll out quarterly updates.

Samsung Galaxy devices released in 2017 and 2018 are already getting the biannual security updates. The list of these devices include:

  • Galaxy S8 Lite, Note FE
  • Galaxy A6, A6+, A7 (2018), A8+(2018)A8 Star, A8s, A9 (2018)
  • Samsung Galaxy J2 Core, J3 (2017), J3 Top, J4, J4+, J4 Core, J5, J6, J6+, J7, J7 Duo, J7 Prime 2, J7 Pop, J7 Max, J7 Neo, J7+, J8
  • Samsung GalaxyM10, M20
  • Tab A, Tab A 10.5, Tab S3, Tab S4, and Tab E 8 Refresh

Samsung is already playing hardcore. The company recently announced to send updates to several devices with the One UI 3.1 software, skipping UI 3.0. Two of the devices which received these updates are; Samsung Galaxy A42 5G and Samsung Galaxy M31.
