HONOR introduces the Pad X8 Pro in the European market with a different name
Yesterday, HONOR unveiled its Pad X8 Pro in China. Notably, the company has introduced the same product in the European market but with a different name i.e., HONOR Pad X9. This slate is tuned for multimedia and features a stylish design. It boasts an 11.5″ IPS LCD that is pretty sizable and has 100% sRGB coverage. The display has a 120Hz refresh rate with a resolution of 2,000 by 1,200 pixels.
The Pad X9 features six speakers
The tablet consists of six speakers. Two of the speakers are presented on the left side, while two are located on the right side. Another pair can be found on the bottom side of the device. To provide a 360° audio experience the bottom-firing speakers are designed to bounce sound around the space. It is based on the Honor Histen technology.
The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 685. On the software side, the tablet boasts MagicOS 7.1 (Android 13). It comes with parental controls like support for Google Kids Space and Family Link app. In case a user has multiple HONOR devices they can be connected via the Honor Connect in order to make the communication easier.
Availability and pricing
The body of the Honor Pad X9 is metallic. It measures 6.9mm and weighs around 495g. It is equipped with a 7,250mAh battery inside. Currently, the Pad X9 is available in only one storage configuration i.e., Wi-Fi, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB storage. It is priced at €250/£180. Presently, it is available in the German market. The UK market will begin selling the Honor Pad X9 on July 19 via the HiHonor online store. If you purchase from the UK store before the end of July, you will receive a free set of Honor Earbuds X5 (worth £40). Other retailers like Amazon, Argos, Very, and Currys will also sell the tablet.
For comparison, the previous Honor Pad X8 costs €180/£140 with 4GB of memory. The old slate is smaller and has a smaller 5,100mAh battery (10.1″ 60Hz display, 1,920 x 1,200px). Additionally, it employs a MediaTek MT8786 chipset and only has stereo speakers.
