HTC to launch its latest smartphone on May 18
Several teasers from the company pointed towards the launch of a new smartphone, and now we officially know it as the launch date is announced. HTC announced the arrival of its latest device on May 18.
The HTC U23 is all set to be launched on May 18
That latest device to be launched is another addition to HTC’s U series and is named the HTC U23 Pro. Before that, the last device from this series was launched in June 2020, the HTC U20 5G.
The HTC U20 5G was a mid-range smartphone, and it seems that the upcoming device won’t include a flagship SoC either. As we have heard rumours about the upcoming device containing the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, that’s Qualcomm’s mid-range offer.
For the display, we are expecting an AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of internal storage. Along with that, a headphone jack is available on the top of the device.
The device will contain a 108-megapixel main camera with VR support
A 4,600mAh battery along with a 108-megapixel camera are expected. Along with that, Android 13 will be pre-installed on the device. That’s all we know about the device yet.
One thing to keep in mind is that HTC is teasing this smartphone under the ‘Viveverse’ branding. That basically suggests that this phone will support VR in some way.
Thanks to Evan Blass, we also know how the phone will look. Even though they were quite little, he posted pictures of the phone. The gallery below shows the product in two alternative colour schemes.
The colors used here are white and brown, and as you can see, the back of the device has a significant number of camera sensors. The front has a display camera hole, and the bottom bezel is substantially thicker than the other bezels.
