Huawei Confirms its Existing Mobile Phones will still receive Android and GMS Updates
The general license deal of Huawei expired last week. There was a fear amongst Huawei users that the company might not be able to provide its users with Android updates from now onwards. Huawei smartphone owners got worried. However, on the official Huawei Mobile Twitter account, it has been clarified that isn’t happening. This was confirmed by GSMArena.
A Huawei Nova 5t phone user asked Huawei if his phone will not get Android and GMS updates in the future.
The user tweeted, “@HuaweiMobile what about google services and android update on huawei nova 5t after google license end in 13 august.”

To this Huawei Mobile replied,
“Hi there, thank you for your message. There is no impact on existing devices. We will continue to share security and software updates to our devices, as we always have. If you have any questions, please let us know via DM.”
This means that existing Huawei users shouldn’t be concerned about Android services on the device. The software and security updates will be provided to Huawei users.
US Commerce Department has not given any official statement regarding the renewal of license of Huawei.
