Huawei will officially release HarmonyOS 4.0 next month at HDC

The Chinese company Huawei will introduce the latest version of its operating system next month. According to some fresh pieces of information, the company will unveil the latest HarmonyOS 4.0 during its annual event of the company. Reportedly, Huawei will conduct the HDC (Huawei Developers Conference) next month. The company shared the news on Weibo so there is no doubt in the clarity of it.

In addition to this, the company also shared an illustration of some ArkTS code with the words “What to expect in August” and a large number “4” pointing to the following month. Well, this information has not surfaced for the first time. We have come across rumors that suggested August 4 for the release of HarmonyOS.

What is HarmonyOS?

Huawei’s own operating system, HarmonyOS, places the smartphone at the center of the whole ecosystem. Teasers from earlier in the month suggested that the new version would enhance compatibility in the 1+8+N environment. It is under beta testing. Some users have shared a glimpse of the HarmonyOS upcoming version.

The company has utilized the operating system in various smartphones of the Huawei P60, Mate50, and Mate 40 series. However, the OS by the company is only available to Chinese consumers. Given this fact, the upcoming launch of HarmonyOS 4.0 will be limited to local consumers.

Smartphones still only come with the HarmonyOS logo in China. Undoubtedly, some of the capabilities will be available internationally, but as Huawei has repeatedly told us “users are not prepared for the switch.” For this reason, we anticipate the name EMUI to be in use.
