In line with its newest TVs, Samsung debuts two new soundbars at CES 2024
Besides the new Neo QLED and OLED TV series, Samsung has debuted two new soundbars at CES 2024. Reportedly, the company introduced the ultra-thin HW-S800D and the flagship soundbar HW-Q990D. The ultra-thin HW-S800D can fit in any wide space. It is a 1.6-inch-deep soundbar. It accompanies 10 drivers, a center channel for clear audio, and overhead speakers. According to Samsung, this soundbar is compatible with a subwoofer that provides “distortion-free bass in a compact form factor.”
The flagship HW-Q990D
In addition to the ultra-thin model, the company debuted the flagship HW-Q990D model. It features an 11.1.4-channel configuration. Besides this, it includes several new features, like a Private Listening mode that deactivates the front-firing speakers and a Party Mode audio profile.
We are currently witnessing the results of Harman’s acquisition of Roon from last year. Users can beam music to specific speakers or groups of devices with the HW-Q990D soundbar by connecting it to the high-resolution audio streaming service Roon. It features a Dolby Atmos sound. With the help of AI, this speaker can optimize sound for various types of content. Moreover, the company claims that this model of the soundbar features support for HDMI 2.1, which offers pass-through at up to 4K at 120 Hz.
Currently, the company has not shared any details regarding the price and release schedule of the new soundbars. The previous models of the soundbar, HW-S800B and HW-Q990C, are priced at $899 and $1,899, respectively. In light of this, we may predict that the new HW-S800D and HW-Q990D counterparts, which were presented today at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, will likely have similar prices when they go on sale.
