Intel Graphics Drivers: Arc A350M and A370M receive new beta driver

Intel released a new preview version of its graphics driver for the Arc series graphics chips, which made its debut based on the Alchemist architecture with the two entry-level discrete graphics Intel A350M and A370M, as well as Iris Xe and Intel UHD in the Core -12th generation processors released for testing.

Driver support for discrete desktop chips

Intel addresses the new graphics driver in the Version 30.0.1101.1732 Beta (PDF) especially for developers and very experienced users, but also for players who want to use the latest optimizations for new games and bug fixes beforehand. In addition to the Arc graphics processor ACM-G11, with its up to 1024 shader units, the versions A770, A750, A580, A380, and A310 expected for the desktop are also supported. It is also intended for the integrated GPUs Intel UHD 770, UHD 730, and UHD 710 of the hybrid desktop processors Alder Lake-S (test) and the mobile CPUs of the Alder Lake-H, -U, -P, and -Y type.

The focus is on the games

Improvements and bug fixes are included for the games Back 4 Blood, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Gears 5 (test), FIFA 22, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, Monster Hunter: World (test), and CS: GO.

FIXED PROBLEMS:

  • Back 4 Blood* may experience lighting or texture damage when fog is visible on the screen.
  • Gears 5* may experience terrain corruption when using medium or higher quality graphics settings.
  • In FIFA 22*, an application may crash during normal gameplay.
  • World of Warcraft: Shadowlands* may flicker or become corrupted when MSAA is enabled.
  • Stuttering or lag may be observed when playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive*, PlayerUnknown’s.
  • Battlegrounds*, Monster Hunter: World*, Hood: Outlaws & Legends*, Outriders* and Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts 2*.
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider* may experience an application crash or crash with an error pop-up window when Ray Traced Shadow Quality is enabled.
  • Monster Hunter World: Iceborne* may experience an application crash or crash with an error popup when setting the render API to DirectX®12.

The graphics driver continues to have issues with the AAA games Forza Horizon 5 (test), Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Guardians of the Galaxy, Halo Infinite, and Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition.

KNOWN PROBLEMS:

  • Forza Horizon 5* may experience texture corruption.
  • In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War*, an application may crash during normal gameplay.
  • Map textures may not load or may load as blank surfaces while playing CrossFire*.
  • Some objects and textures in Halo Infinite* may turn black and fail to load. Lighting can also appear blurry or overexposed in the multiplayer game menus.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy* may show texture corruption on some interactive objects.
  • Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition* may experience slight texture corruption.

Intel Graphics Driver v30.0.101.1732 Beta Release Notes

In most cases, the graphics driver still has problems with bad textures and graphics aberrations. However, for more and more titles that didn’t always run well before, starting problems, crashes and flickering have been fixed.

Intel Arc Control still has problems

The software developers keep their own specifications for the all-in-one graphics card suite Intel Arc Control, which in size and feature set is reminiscent of a combination of Radeon Adrenalin and GeForce Experience and combines graphics drivers and Intel XeSS.

Known issues with Intel® Arc™ control

  • Checking for driver updates or trying to install driver updates through Intel® Arc™ Control can sometimes cause the message “Error Installing Driver” to appear.
  • Smooth Sync is enabled by default when “Application Choice” is selected in the Frame Delivery settings on the Intel® Arc™ Control game settings page.
  • The Performance Tuning page in Intel® Arc™ Control may be incorrectly visible or configurable on unsupported platforms. When this happens, changing settings on this page may cause an error and/or not work.
  • A Windows® UAC prompt may appear when launching Intel® Arc™ Control.
