iOS 12.5.6, the security update that follows iOS 12.5.5, released last September, addresses a vulnerability (CVE-2022-32893) in Apple’s internal browser and HTML rendering engine WebKit, which was last fixed with the updates in iOS and iPadOS 15.6.1 on recent devices. The next six smartphones, tablets, and one portable media player will receive the iOS 12.5.6 update. iOS 12.5.6 – Compatible iPhones, iPads & iPods

iOS 12.5.6 includes an important security update The second vulnerability (CVE-2022-32894) that was closed in iOS 15 does not affect iOS 12, as Apple reported in the Release Notes approved. The latest security update is already included in macOS 12.5.1 (“Monterey”). Including the now updated legacy devices receiving build 16H71, Apple has now closed the WebKit vulnerabilities in all affected models in its portfolio.
