Twitter edit button would come as a paid editing feature

Twitter has begun testing a much-requested feature: the ability to edit tweets. After testing among employees, they want to offer the ‘Edit Tweet’ button to the first users in September. Initially, however, this only applies to paying customers.

The testing by Twitter Blue users starting this month will initially be limited to a very small group of users, who will also all be from the same country. Twitter Blue is the paid version of the microblogging service and now costs $4.99 in the US after a recent price increase.

The offer is still not available in this country as it is still limited to English-speaking regions such as the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Whether and when the “Edit button” will also be offered worldwide is currently completely unclear.
