iOS 14.6 Speeds Up Older iPhones With Increased Power Consumption And Heat

Two days ago, the official version of iOS 14.6 was released. Due to the iPhone slowdown issue in the previous version of iOS 14.5.1, the new version fixes it. Both the startup speed and the GeekBench 5 running score are normal. However, the version is not perfect. Users found that iOS 14.6 has increased power consumption and heat generation.

Taking Stephane Pedrazzi as an example, he observed that after upgrading to iOS 14.6, the phone will become significantly hot when idle, and the power consumption is even more obvious when listening to podcasts with Podcast. He also tweeted about the iOS 14.6 update and associated problems.

I wonder if you have encountered the above problems?

The following problems have been observed with the official version of iOS 14.6: After using “Lock iPhone” on Apple Watch, “Unlock with Apple Watch” may not work;

Reminders may appear as blank lines; Call blocking extension may not be displayed in “Settings”;

During a call, the Bluetooth device may sometimes disconnect or send audio to other devices;

iPhone performance may decrease during startup;

“Voice Control” users can unlock the restarted iPhone for the first time using only their voice;

The new option of Lost Mode allows you to add email addresses instead of phone numbers for AirTag and “Find” network accessories;

The phone number of the owner displayed when the AirTag is touched with a device that supports the NFC function will be partially hidden; Support subscribing to channels and individual programs.
