iPhone 12 And iPhone 12 Pro Receives 9 Million Record Orders

For Apple, the start of pre-orders for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro has gone very well. There were hardly any reports of unsuccessful order attempts or problems with store accessibility. Now it is even said that Apple has set new records.

Apple itself rarely publishes exact numbers on iPhone sales. Only when the quarterly figures are announced there is an insight into the sales figures. From time to time Apple also announces in press releases how many sales went over the counter after the official start in stores – but all these numbers for the iPhone 12 are not yet available. Nevertheless, the Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo already seems certain that Apple has set a new record with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro pre-sales start.

In a note to investors on Monday, Kuo explained that the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro would almost match the numbers for the entire iPhone 11 line in 2019. According to one estimate, Apple sold between 10 million and 12 million iPhone 11 series devices on the launch weekend in 2019. Sales of the two new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models hit an estimated 1.7 to 2 million units in 24 hours, up from 500,000 to 800,000 iPhone 11 units last year.

iPhone 12 mini and Pro Max

Overall, according to Kuo, Apple will be able to book between 7 and 9 million pre-orders for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro over the weekend. Incidentally, he does not believe that when Apple starts pre-orders for the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max on November 6th, the numbers will be similar.

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be available in stores this coming Friday, October 23rd. Then customers should also receive their first pre-orders – experience has shown that the first new iPhones can arrive a day or two earlier.
