As leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo (via Wccftech) reports, the successor will have a wider folding screen than the first generation, for which a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch outer screen are planned. At the same time, the information shows that Apple will not make any changes to the display technology and will once again rely on an OLED panel from Samsung. In order to save production costs, the primary M16 OLED and M14 indoor screens of the first generation will be used again.
The step seems logical, as the group currently has to reckon with high component prices. Twelve gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of NAND flash storage alone currently cost the company an estimated $200 (around 176 euros) to purchase. By reusing existing screen technologies, Apple could keep profit margins stable and counteract ongoing price fluctuations in the memory market.
Uncertain future for the iPhone Air

The first iPhone Air had a difficult time on the market and did not achieve satisfactory sales figures despite several price cuts.
